Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com November 14, JPMorgan Chase said that supply disruptions at Foxconn's iPhone plant will definitely affect shipments of the iPhone 14 / Pro series, but it is not clear how much the impact will be.

A note to investors from JPMorgan acknowledged that it was difficult to determine how much the iPhone plant had been affected. However, analysts believe that the sudden and rapid increase in delivery times for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max "indicates a supply shortage" and is likely to last until the end of 2022.

While the biggest impact on iPhone supply was in the holiday quarter, Apple's first quarter of fiscal 2023, "the full extent of production resistance will not be clear until production returns to normal and factories return to full capacity."

Shipments of JPMorgan's iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are estimated to fall 5 million in the December quarter, while other iPhone shipments fell 3 million over the same period, CTOnews.com learned. This is equivalent to the forecast of overall shipments for this period of 74 million, less than 82 million.

Meanwhile, iPhone shipments in March are expected to grow from 56 million to 61 million, and some unmet demand from December is expected to flow into the March quarter.

For all of 2023, JPMorgan now estimates that total iPhone sales will reach 237m, compared with 239m previously. That would mean a 4 per cent drop from a year earlier.

In terms of revenue and earnings forecasts, JPMorgan expects Apple to generate revenue of $121 billion and earnings per share of $1.91 in the December quarter, below $128 billion and $2.14, respectively. This will result in a 3% year-on-year drop in revenue and a 9% year-on-year drop in profit.

Apple official: shipments of iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max will be lower than previously expected, customers will have to wait longer to receive the product.
