The report predicts that Chinese mainland car sales will reach 27 million units in 2022, surpassing pre-epidemic levels. CTOnews.com learned that from January to October, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 548.5 million and 5.28 million respectively, an increase of 1.1 times over the same period last year, with a market share of 24%.

With regard to automotive MCU, Qunzhi Consulting said that the market price of automotive MCU increased by about 5-10% in the third quarter of 2022. After entering 2023, the shortage of automotive MCU will gradually ease, and supply and demand for the whole year will return to a more benign state. However, due to the rapid growth of new energy vehicles, the absolute demand for vehicle MCU is still in the stage of substantial increase, and the price of MCU is still difficult to decline in the short term, and it is expected that it will decline by 2024.

In addition, Qunzhi Consulting predicts that global sales of new energy vehicles will reach 28.8 million by 2027. Compared with 2021, the average number of bikes carrying functional chips such as MCU and memory will also double.
