The design overhaul was scheduled to be released in the summer, but it has obviously been delayed. Now Android Auto's new user interface, UI, is being pushed to public beta users.

CTOnews.com learned that the new Android Auto interface is more rounded and cleaner, with larger UI elements and controls. Google's goal is to make it easier to read and control more accessible. Now the split screen is more effective.

Here are some of the major changes to Android Auto.

On the new dashboard, the map will now be closer to the driver and the size / accessibility will be improved.

Dashboard media cards have a whole new look and can now grow and shrink dynamically.

You can now let the map fill the entire Android Auto area, giving users more choices on the big screen to choose the layout.

There is a new application Dock that makes it easy to switch between recent applications with just a click.

More parts of the system have been updated with Material You design and modern UI components and layouts.

Now you can access music and media recommendations from Google Assistant by simply swiping the media cards on the dashboard.

Old status icons and notification center ringtones have been merged into easy-to-understand, touchable areas, including the amount of unread information.
