CTOnews.com, Nov. 14 (Xinhua)-- Jinan-Laiwu high-speed railway (referred to as "Jilai high-speed railway") recently successfully concluded the joint commissioning and test work and is about to enter the operational trial phase, according to China Railway official Weibo.

CTOnews.com learned that the Jilai high-speed railway is located in Jinan, Shandong Province, with a total length of 117.49 kilometers and a designed speed of 350km per hour. There are six stations in Jinan East, Licheng, Zhangqiunan, Xueye, Laiwubei and Gangcheng, which are connected with Shiji high-speed railway and Jiqing high-speed railway through Jinan East Railway Station.

Construction of the Jilai high-speed railway began in September 2019, and the joint test was officially launched on September 14, 2022, with a total of 1055 test trains and a mileage of 37608 kilometers, according to the railway department.

According to reports, after the Jilai high-speed railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will further improve the structure of Shandong's high-speed rail network and facilitate the travel of people along the line, which is of great significance to creating Shandong's "provincial capital economic circle" on the track and promoting coordinated regional development.
