Demand Forecast for flat Panel displays Omdia expects the display market to be below normal in 2022. CTOnews.com learned that 2022 will be the first year of negative demand growth in the history of the flat panel display industry.

According to Ricky Park, an analyst at Omdia, "flat panel display prices and retail prices have fallen sharply for more than a year, given the high consumer sentiment, especially the rapid recovery in demand for oversized TVs. This will lead to a rapid recovery in industry demand."

According to reports, at present, major display panel manufacturers are mass producing various TV size products of more than 70 inches, in order to seize the super-large size TV market, and minimize production costs by optimizing process efficiency. It is expected that OLED TV will increase its market share by improving image quality and reducing prices.

Omdia expects the market for televisions over 70 inches to grow from 18 million in 2022 to 21 million in 2023, an increase of more than 15 per cent, and the above products are expected to exceed 20 per cent of the entire TV display market for the first time in 2023.
