CTOnews.com, November 14 (Xinhua)-- Wu Kai, chief scientist of the Ningde era, said at the 2022 annual meeting of Gonggong Lithium Power, according to the Financial Associated Press, that 221 battery recycling outlets have been built in the Bang Pu cycle of the Ningde era, ranking first in 2021, accounting for 50 percent of waste power batteries in the country.

Ningde Times had previously released the recycling data of its subsidiary Bang Pu cycle: "the recovery rate of nickel, cobalt and manganese is more than 99%, and the recovery rate of lithium is more than 90%."

Data show that Guangdong Bangpu Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2005, Ningde Times is the largest shareholder, holding 52.87%, mainly engaged in resource recycling technology research and development, energy recovery system research and development, new material technology research and development.

Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Ningde Times, said at the 2022 World Power Battery Congress that Ningde Times is strengthening the recycling of battery materials because most of the materials in batteries can be reused. At present, the recovery rate of nickel, cobalt and manganese in Ningde era has reached 99.3%, and lithium has reached more than 90%. After 2035, Ningde era will be able to recycle the materials in retired batteries to meet a large part of the market demand.

In fact, according to the data released by a number of industry companies, the current lithium recovery rate of power batteries has exceeded 90%.

CTOnews.com learned that from January to September this year, China's power battery production totaled 372.1GWh, an increase of 176.2% over the same period last year, according to the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance. The High Technology Industry Research Institute (GGII) predicts that by 2025, the cumulative 137.4GWh of decommissioned power batteries in China will reach 960000 tons of waste battery capacity to be recycled.
