CTOnews.com, November 14, according to CINNO Research survey data, the global market shipped about 140 million AMOLED smartphone panels in the third quarter of 2022, down 4.8% from the same period last year and up 9.1% from the previous year. Although the demand for AMOLED smartphone panels picked up month-on-month due to the peak season effect, it continued a downward trend compared with the same period last year, and AMOLED smartphone shipments in the global market showed negative growth in the first three quarters of this year.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of global AMOLED smartphone panel shipments in the third quarter of 2022, South Korea accounted for 69.6%, while domestic manufacturers accounted for 30.4%. The domestic share increased by 10.1% compared with 20.4% in the same period last year, surpassing 30% for the first time, and the share rose rapidly.

The brief comments on CINNO Research are as follows:

Samsung display (SDC) AMOLED smartphone panel shipments of about 8250, down 21.9% year on year, down 6.2% month-on-month, market share narrowed to 60.1% from 73.3% in the same period last year. Although Samsung Show (SDC) still ranks first in the industry, its regional industry position is not unshakable, especially in the Chinese market, whether rigid or flexible AMOLED panels. Samsung shows that shipments of SDC to mainstream domestic Android brands have plummeted.

BOE AMOLED smartphone panel shipments of about 1750 million, an increase of 23.1% over the same period last year, an increase of 52.2%, a significant increase over the same period last year and month-on-month growth, with a market share of 12.7%, up 2.9% from the same period last year, ranking second in the world and first in China. Driven by Apple's new phone orders, BOE's market share is growing rapidly.

LGD AMOLED smartphone panels shipped about 1300 million pieces, up 41.3% year-on-year, 91.2% month-on-month, and 9.5% market share, up 3.1% year-on-year. The LGD AMOLED panel relies heavily on iPhone orders, so shipments fluctuate significantly with the launch cycle of the iPhone.

Visionox AMOLED smartphone panels shipped about 9 million pieces, up 42.2% from a year earlier, down 7.2% from a month earlier, and a market share of 6.6%, up 2.2% from a year earlier, ranking fourth in the world and second in China. Thanks to the stable order source of the main customers, the production rate of Vishino AMOLED production line ranks among the forefront of domestic manufacturers.
