Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, November 13, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, after the sluggish peak season in the third quarter of this year, the supply chain, including the brand side and the manufacturing side, was bearish in the fourth quarter.

Looking forward to 2023, contract manufacturers Quanta, Inc. and Pegatron have expressed their view that the PC market will continue to decline next year, while brand manufacturer Asustek predicts that the decline of the PC industry will be in high digits or even double digits.

Among them, Quanta estimates that laptop shipments in the third quarter are better than expected, with a month-on-month growth of more than 25%, a higher base period, a slowdown in seasonal demand and a weakening in terminal consumer demand. It is estimated that laptop shipments will decrease by 15-20% in the fourth quarter compared with the previous quarter.

CTOnews.com learned that Quanta pointed out that it is expected that NB shipments will drop by less than 20% this year compared with the same period last year. As business and consumer spending tends to be conservative, the PC market is expected to continue to decline next year, but there is still rigid demand for PC, which will support the overall market size at pre-epidemic levels.

Pegatron's analysis said that the decline in consumption of information products affected by the epidemic, geopolitics and inflation has slowed down in the second half of the year, and this trend will continue for some time next year. Market conditions are expected to be clearer in the second half of next year.

On the brand side, Asustek pointed out that the challenges facing the PC industry and the overall global economy are relatively severe. Except for a relatively low point in the second quarter of this year, industrial demand is expected to decrease month-on-month in the fourth quarter, more than 20% lower than the same period last year, which is the second trough of the overall industry this year. Asustek expects PC shipments to fall 15 per cent in the fourth quarter. Looking forward to next year, Asustek said that the general environment is depressed, enterprises to cut spending, the industry upstream and downstream inventory adjustment, I am afraid it will continue for quite a long time, and it is expected that there will be several quarters of adjustment.

Chen Junsheng, Acer chairman, predicted that the PC industry market would "bottom out" but not rebound in the middle of next year, with shipments expected to fall by double digits in the first half of next year as shipments remained high in the first half of this year.
