CTOnews.com, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) Samsung Wallet (Samsung Wallet) can now serve Galaxy device users in South Africa. Existing Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass users in South Africa now receive notification of migration to Samsung Wallet when they open one of these two applications. They will get more functions, including digital keys, membership cards and transportation cards, access to mobile payments, coupons and so on.

Earlier this summer, Samsung began merging its Pay and Pass platforms. As a result, Samsung Wallet has become a new application, adding new functions while implementing Pay and Pass functions.

Initially, Samsung Wallet was available in eight countries, including China, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom. Samsung announced last month that Samsung Wallet will enter 13 other countries by the end of this year, including Bahrain, Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates.

Samsung launched Samsung Wallet in Switzerland at the end of October, and now Samsung says the unified platform has been launched in South Africa. The release may be staggered, as in Switzerland, which means that the app may not be available to all customers in South Africa at the same time.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung Wallet allows users to securely store ID cards, vaccine cards, train tickets, plane boarding passes, digital car keys, encrypted wallets, debit cards and credit cards.
