Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Qin Huai for the delivery of the clues of a dream! CTOnews.com, November 13, Microsoft recently issued a notice of changes to its email account and will deactivate POP3 and IMAP4's TLS 1.0 bank 1.1 on December 10, 2022.

As of December 10, 2022, Office 365 will begin phasing out Transport layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 for POP3 and IMAP4, according to email notifications. TLS is a standard communication protocol used to provide secure Web communication between POP3 and IMAP4. POP3 and IMAP4 are client / server communication protocols used to receive e-mail. Microsoft will be forced to upgrade to TLS 1.2 to provide enhanced encryption and help ensure that you receive email more securely. Microsoft has deactivated TLS 1.0 and 1.1 for most Microsoft 365 services in the global environment.

CTOnews.com has been informed that POP3 and IMAP4 will not be able to connect to TLS 1.0 and 1.1 as of December 10, 2022. After that, you will not be able to use the POP3 / IMAP4 communication protocol to receive email. To continue using POP3 or IMAP4 to access your e-mail account, upgrade / update the client to support TLS 1.2. Your email will not be deleted, but it cannot be accessed without upgrading the client. 、

If you are unable to update / upgrade the older client, Microsoft will provide an endpoint with the option to join, allowing you to continue to connect via TLS 1.0 USB 1.1. The POP3 of the old client must be set to pop-legacy.office365.com and the IMAP4 must be set to imap-legacy.office365.com. However, using older versions of TLS is not as safe as TLS 1.2, so it is recommended that you update and use TLS 1.2.
