CTOnews.com SpaceX launched Galaxy 31 and Galaxy 32 satellites for Intelsat at 00:06:53 a.m. today at Cape Canaveral SLC-40 launch site in Florida with a "14-hand" Falcon 9 (B1051.14). The upper stage was launched twice and the separation was completed 38 minutes and 41 seconds after launch.

As you can see from the picture and video, SpaceX Falcon 9 uses a consumable launch method, with no landing legs and grid rudders. According to reports, this is due to customer requirements and payment of additional costs, this mission decided not to recover the first stage booster.

According to Froeliger, the two satellite stacks weigh about 14,500 pounds, or 6.6 metric tons, and require the rocket to fully release thrust during liftoff (the nine main engines generate 1.7 million pounds of thrust in a little over two and a half minutes).

The booster debuted on March 2, 2019, when it helped NASA conduct the first unmanned test flight mission of the Crew Dragon capsule.

This should be SpaceX's first time in more than three years not to recover Falcon 9's core stage, and the follow-up B1049.11 also appears to be an expendable launch, expected to launch Eutelsat 10B sometime in November.

CTOnews.com has learned that Galaxy 31 and 32 satellites are replacements for Intelsat's aging satellites at GEO positions over the United States. The satellites will slowly raise their orbits to geostationary orbit (GEO) over the next few months.

This mission was:
