CTOnews.com, November 12 (Xinhua)-- Deng Guoyan, co-CEO of iPhone contract manufacturer Heshuo, said at a legal conference this week that laptop shipments in the fourth quarter of this year are expected to drop 15 to 20 percent month-on-month due to weak demand.

According to reports, due to weak demand and the early arrival of the off-season, shipments of desktops and motherboards will be reduced by 50% to 55% month-on-month in the fourth quarter.

In terms of non-information products, Deng Guoyan believes that shipments of communications products and electric vehicles in the fourth quarter are expected to be better than those in the third quarter; due to the early entry of the peak season in the fourth quarter, shipments of consumer electronics will increase slightly this year.

CTOnews.com learned that the financial report showed that Pegatron's combined revenue in the third quarter of this year was about NT $352.867 billion (about 80.454 billion yuan), an increase of 24.4% month-on-month and 9.3% year-on-year, mainly due to better demand for shipments of information products and communications products.

Compared with the same period last year, Pegatron's revenue from consumer electronics and communications products increased by 18 per cent and 8 per cent respectively in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, while revenue from information products fell 7 per cent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year.
