CTOnews.com, November 12, according to the Taiwan Economic Daily, today, HORIZON PLUS, a joint venture between Hon Hai and Thailand's PTT Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for an electric car factory in Thailand.

HORIZON PLUS expects to invest about 37 billion baht (about 7.317 billion yuan), with the goal of completing construction and reaching the production delivery phase by 2024. The initial production capacity will be 50,000 electric vehicles per year and will be gradually increased to 150000 electric vehicles per year to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles by 2030.

According to reports, HORIZON PLUS provides comprehensive production services for electric vehicles, including the manufacture of key components of electric vehicles. In addition, HORIZON PLUS's business model is to entrust Design and Manufacturing Services (CDMS) to provide services to all brands who want to produce cars in Thailand.

CTOnews.com learned that Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei recently talked about the layout of electric vehicles next year: in Taiwan, Model C will hand over the car to Na Zhijie and build a Kaohsiung battery center; produce INDIEV prototype cars and mass produce Monarch electric agricultural vehicles in the United States; build electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Thailand; promote software and engineering services in Saudi Arabia; and promote electric bus and battery manufacturing in Indonesia. Expand the auto parts factory in Mexico.
