CTOnews.com learned that there are 12 stations in the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway section, with Shanghai Baoshan, Chongming, Qidong, Haimen North, Rugao West, Huangqiao, Taizhou South, Yizheng North and Nanjing North Station as new stations, and Taicang, Nantong and Yangzhou East Station as renovation and expansion stations.

The railway department said that the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway is an important part of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" passages along the Yangtze River in the national medium-and long-term railway network planning, and it is a fast and direct access between the cities along the Yangtze River and the Nanjing metropolitan area and the Shanghai metropolitan area. it is responsible for the transport of passengers from the main road network along the river and some of the coastal and Beijing-Shanghai corridors to Shanghai. After the completion of the project, it is of great significance to optimize the layout of the railway network along the Yangtze River, serve the coordinated development of the Yangtze River economic belt, and promote the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
