CTOnews.com November 12 news, according to PC Watch news, Toshiba released the latest mechanical hard drive roadmap.

According to the plan, Toshiba will launch the 29TB model as a leading product in fiscal year 2024. In addition, in fiscal year 2025, Toshiba aims to achieve more than 30 TB of capacity by using 11-disc technology.

It is reported that Toshiba, in cooperation with Showa Electric and magnetic head manufacturer TDK, has developed resonant Microwave assisted recording (MAS-MAMR) as a new generation of magnetic recording technology to further increase capacity. Products above 30TB will adopt this technology.

CTOnews.com learned that Toshiba launched the 20TB high-capacity traditional magnetic recording (CMR) mechanical hard drive, the MG10, in October. The 20TB MG10 series features a 10-disk helium-filled seal design that uses Toshiba's magnetic energy control-microwave-assisted magnetic recording (FC-MAMR) technology to enhance storage capacity.
