Subsequently, the spacecraft separated from the rocket and entered the scheduled orbit smoothly, and the launch mission was a complete success. This is the first time that the long Seven rocket has sent a "space express" after the basic configuration of the Chinese space station "T" has been assembled in orbit, which also means the successful conclusion of the long Seven launch mission during the construction phase of the space station.

It is worth mentioning that the long March 6 carrier rocket just completed a round of launch mission three hours ago, and the success of this mission once again set a new record for the "shortest" launch interval of China's long March rocket.

The Tianzhou V cargo spacecraft is the first visiting aircraft after the completion of the third cabin of China's space station, docking with the "T" configuration combination (including radial docking manned spacecraft) for the first time, with a docking target of 80 tons. This is also the first time that China has implemented cargo spacecraft rendezvous and docking under the condition that the space station is manned, and has the backup capability of manual teleoperation rendezvous and docking mission in case of failure, thus improving the reliability of the close rendezvous process.

According to the overall mission plan of the project, the space station will launch four cargo ships from Tianzhou 2 to Tianzhou 5 during the key technology verification and construction phase, and the cargo cabins are all sealed.

Tianzhou-2 was successfully launched on May 29, 2021. Tianzhou-5 is the last cargo ship to carry out an applied transport mission at this stage, with a two-hour autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking capability for the first time, achieving a new breakthrough in China's space technology.

This launch is the 449th launch mission of the long March series of carrier rockets. In the follow-up, the Chang-7 rocket will continue to carry out the Tianzhou cargo spacecraft launch mission to ensure the stable operation of China's space station during the operation phase.

CTOnews.com learned that China's space station construction plan has now entered the final stage. According to the plan, the Shenzhou 15 flight and the Shenzhou 14 return mission will be carried out before the end of the year to complete the construction of the space station.

According to the usual practice, the launch mission of the Tianzhou V cargo spacecraft also means that the Shenzhou 15 manned mission will soon be launched.

Now, the spacecraft is mainly loaded with items necessary for the Shenzhou 15 astronauts to carry out normal work and life after entering the space station. In addition to carrying the astronauts' personal belongings and experimental equipment needed for their work, a Spring Festival gift package was specially prepared for them, as well as gifts for the handover of the Shenzhou 14 and Shenzhou 15 groups at the space station.

Subsequently, the crew of the Shenzhou 14 astronauts will successively welcome the visits of the Tianzhou V cargo spacecraft and the Shenzhou 15 manned spacecraft inside the space station. at that time, the two crew groups of Shenzhou 14 and 15 will complete the first astronaut crew rotation in orbit in China's space history.
