CTOnews.com November 11 news, today, DSCC released a report that in the third quarter of 2022, MiniLED backlight shipments reached 5.1 million pieces, an increase of 30% month-on-month and 158% year-on-year.

Apple continues to dominate shipments of the MiniLED, the report said. IPad shipped 1.4 million units and MacBook 2 million units. Apple's MiniLED shipments account for more than 70% of all MiniLED products.

CTOnews.com has learned that DSCC says the same situation is expected to be seen by 2025 because of the OLED adoption plans for iPad after 2024 and MacBook after 2025. Looking ahead, DSCC expects:

Shipments of MiniLED panels for all applications are 9.8 million in 2021 and are expected to reach 3700 million in 2026.

The highest year-on-year growth in 2022 will be 88%, down to 17% in 2026.

Notebooks will be the main driver of MiniLED growth by 2026.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro and 14-inch / 16-inch MacBook Pro will continue to contribute significantly to MiniLED tablet and laptop shipments until 2025.

OLED will be used for iPad,2025 in 2024 and for MacBook Pro in 2024. This will have a great impact on MiniLED.

Samsung, LG and China's major TV brands continue to bring MiniLED TVs to market. This will make TV the largest MiniLED application by shipments after 2026.

In addition to IT and TV shows, MiniLED began to infiltrate more applications, such as AR / VR, automotive, medical and so on.
