Taiwan shares of TSMC rose as much as 8.5% today after disclosing its October 2022 earnings report yesterday, closing up 8.3% at 441.50 New Taiwan dollars (NT $441.50), the biggest one-day percentage increase since July 2020, CTOnews.com reported on November 11.

"while TSMC will not be immune from the global economic slowdown, given its technological leadership, we believe its position remains intact," Citi analysts said in a report. "

CTOnews.com learned that the financial report showed that TSMC's consolidated revenue in October 2022 was about NT $210.266 billion (about 47.941 billion yuan), an increase of 1.0 per cent from the previous month and 56.3 per cent from a year earlier. In the first 10 months of this year, TSMC had cumulative revenue of 1.85 trillion New Taiwan dollars (about 421.8 billion yuan), an increase of 44.0 per cent year-on-year.

In addition, TSMC's market share in smartphone AP contract manufacturing will reach an all-time high of about 85 per cent in 2022, according to the latest Strategy Analytics data.
