CTOnews.com, November 11 (Xinhua)-- Tsai Lixing, CEO of MediaTek, said today that revenue is expected to reach $19 billion (about 136.61 billion yuan) this year, doubling revenue over the past four years and increasing net profit by 4.5 times, according to the Taiwan Central News Agency. Among them, the mobile phone business has quadrupled in the past four years, which is the main momentum.

According to Cai Lixing's estimates, MediaTek's revenue is expected to grow from $8 billion (about 57.52 billion yuan) in 2019 to $19 billion (about 136.61 billion yuan) this year. Operating profit will also rise from $700 million (about 5.033 billion yuan) in 2019 to $4 billion (about 287.6 billion yuan).

CTOnews.com learned that Cai Lixing pointed out that MediaTek's mobile phone business has a complete solution from entry to flagship, and the mobile phone business has grown about fourfold in four years. The intelligent terminal device platform has a wide product line, and its business has increased by about 1.5 times in 4 years.

According to reports, MediaTek will continue to invest in advanced system single chip (SOC) and computing technology development in the future, effectively balancing super performance and intelligent power consumption, as well as key networking technologies, such as 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, satellite, and so on.

Looking to the future, Cai Lixing expects that the semiconductor industry will enter an "era of diversified growth". By 2026, with the growth of automotive electronics, data centers, storage devices and other new areas, we will be able to see a more balanced market. Various types of contracts contribute 10% to 12%, the volatility is low, and the market becomes relatively robust.
