Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
A year ago, MediaTek released the Tianji 9000 flagship chip. With its unique design architecture, low power design capability and leading power consumption performance, this flagship SoC has been recognized by mainstream Chinese smartphone manufacturers and greatly promoted MediaTek to maintain the forefront in the global and Chinese smartphone chip market share.
According to the latest report released by Counterpoint Research, MediaTek led the smartphone SoC market in China with 42% market share in the second quarter of 2022, more than doubling its market share compared with the second quarter of 2020.
There is no doubt that the Tianji 9000 series is the biggest contributor to the rapid growth of MediaTek. As such, the release of the new generation flagship chip Tianji 9200 is highly anticipated by the industry.
On November 8, the Tianji 9200 was officially released. At the same time, vivo, OPPO, Xiaomi, Glory, Sound, ASUS have announced that they will launch a new machine equipped with Tianji 9200, among which the next generation flagship model of vivo will be the world's first Tianji 9200, and the vivo engineering machine equipped with Tianji 9200 has also been exposed, with a score of 1,284,467 points, refreshing the running score record of Antu Rabbit again.
A brief introduction to the specifications of the Tianji 9200:
The industry's first processor using TSMC's second generation 4nm process integrates 17 billion transistors.
It is equipped with 3.05GHz Cortex-X3 super core, 3 2.85GHz A715 large cores, 4 1.8GHz A510 small cores, super core and large core all support pure 64-bit applications. According to official tests, compared with the GeekBench 5 CPU of Tianji 9000, Tianji 9200 has 12% higher single-core performance, 10% higher multi-core performance, 10% higher heat dissipation capacity and up to 25% lower power consumption under the same performance.
GPU, equipped with Immortalis-G715 flagship GPU, support mobile hardware ray tracing technology.
Tianji 9200 also supports LPDDR5X 8533Mbps memory, bandwidth is 13% higher than Tianji 9000, and also supports 8-channel UFS 4.0 flash APU. Tianji 9200 integrates MediaTek's sixth generation AI processor APU. The energy-efficient AI architecture not only improves AI performance by 35% compared with the previous generation, but also reduces power consumption of various AI applications.
I believe everyone is very curious about the performance of Tianji 9200. On the day before Tianji 9200 conference, MediaTek organized a small closed-door meeting and provided an engineering prototype equipped with Tianji 9200 for running test.
The following are the results of various running points measured by CTOnews.com. Tianji 9200: Note: This test model is an engineering machine, which is different from the production model. The running score is for reference only.
The first is Ann Rabbit (v9.2.6) running points:
In Ann Rabbit running points, Tianji 9200 scored 1264995, which is the highest score of Ann Rabbit running points among all mobile phones tested by the author, defeating all current Android flagship phones.
Specifically, in the CPU project, Tianji 9200 scored 273586 points, while the GPU score reached 551541 points, a huge increase of about 30%.
In the Geekbench (5.1) running score test, Tianji 9200 scored 1425 points for single core and 4457 points for multiple cores.
Get CTOnews.com Geekbench5 running score database comparison, you can see, compared with the current flagship SoC, whether single-core or multi-core results, Tianji 9200 has a large lead, stable position of the king of performance.
Next, look at the GFXBench test, which focuses more on GPU performance.
Specific achievements are as follows:
GFX-Manhattan 3.0 1080p Off Screen Test 323fps
GFX-Manhattan 3.1 1080p Off Screen Test 226fps
GFX-Aztec 1440p OpenGL Off-Screen Test 63fps
GFX-Aztec 1440p Vulkan off-screen test 67fps can be seen through the running map, thanks to Immortalis-G715 flagship GPU support, Tianji 9200 in GFXBench Manhattan 3.0 test performance than Tianji 9000 improved by 30%+, 1080p Manhattan 3.1 off-screen test, than Apple A16 is 26fps higher:
It needs to be emphasized that the prototype heat dissipation design of this test is very simple (even no heat dissipation), and the battery capacity is only 3000mAh, which is very different from the subsequent mass production models, so the test score can be regarded as the benchmark score of Tianji 9200. Considering the subsequent Tianji 9200 models, there will be more brutal cooling configurations (such as game phones) and different tuning optimizations from manufacturers, so Tianji 9200 will also have higher score performance. For example, the vivo engineering machine equipped with Tianji 9200 broke through 1.28 million points, which is a good proof.
In addition to the score test, CTOnews.com also conducted simple game tests, including 90Hz + smooth quality "Peace Elite," 90Hz / 120Hz + HD/ultimate quality "King Glory," and 60Hz, extremely high quality "Original God." However, since the field test cannot use the frame measurement software to record data, this part of the author simply talks about the subjective feeling of the game experience.
First of all, in the test of the three games, there was no visible frame drop and jam phenomenon, including the original god with extremely high configuration requirements. In the test, even in some big scenes with more configuration, there was basically no frame drop and jam phenomenon.
Secondly, during the game, the heat generation of Tianji 9200 is also very slight, including long-term intensity test, such as more than 30 minutes of original god game, the fuselage is also very difficult to have heat problem, this may be related to the larger fuselage of the engineering machine, but after all, the engineering machine has not done too much heat dissipation design, so it can be proved that the low power consumption advantage of Tianji 9200 is also quite obvious.
In the official data, in the Manhattan 3.0 test summary, the GPU power consumption of the Tianji 9200 is as much as 41% lower than that of the Tianji 9000.
For example, in 120FPS + ultimate quality MOBA games, Tianji 9200 has an average power consumption reduction of 21% compared to Tianji 9000.
Through the above tests, you can simply understand the performance level of Tianji 9200. There is no doubt that this is the performance ceiling of the current mobile phone flagship core. Next, there will be six consecutive models equipped with Tianji 9200, what surprises will there be, let us wait and see!
