CTOnews.com November 11 news, TSMC yesterday released the 2022 October camp revenue report. Consolidated revenue in October was about NT $210.266 billion (about 47.941 billion yuan), up 1.0 per cent from the previous month and 56.3 per cent from the same period last year.

Wei Zhijia said at the October law meeting that the Kaohsiung plant had originally planned two plants, but the 7nm part would be slightly adjusted and the 28nm part would be carried out on schedule.

At the same time, there is also news that the 7nm capacity utilization rate of the Taichung Fab 15B plant is lower than expected, which has now dropped to less than 50%, while the progress of the low-key bamboo Fab 12 (P8) plant is unknown, and the 7nm plan of the Kaohsiung Fab 22 plant is shelved. In the future, depending on the production capacity demand of each process and the re-planning of the new plant, it has aroused concern in the industry.

In this regard, TSMC President Wei Zhe Jia said today (11) that the 7nm plan of TSMC's Kaohsiung plant is only temporarily postponed and will not change the production process.

Earlier in the meeting, Wei Zhe Jia explained that the Kaohsiung plant plan would be slightly adjusted, giving priority to cutting into the 28 nm process. As for the original 7 nm plan, it was decided to postpone due to the rapid decline in the utilization rate of 7 nm and 6 nm capacity. Wei Zhe Jia today confirmed TSMC's latest plan to postpone the construction of 7 nm production capacity.

CTOnews.com learned that TSMC's cumulative revenue from January to October 2022 was about NT $1.85 trillion (about 421.8 billion yuan), an increase of 44.0 per cent over the same period last year.

In the third quarter of this year, TSMC had revenues of $20.23 billion (about 145.049 billion yuan), a gross profit margin of 60.4% and a net operating margin of 50.6%. During the reporting period, TSMC shipments of 5 nm accounted for 28% of total wafer revenue, 26% of total wafer revenue, and 26% of total wafer revenue, and more advanced processes accounted for 54% of total wafer revenue.
