CTOnews.com, Nov. 11, according to industry media Electrek, Tesla has cancelled solar energy projects across the United States on a large scale, and the company said it is shutting down its solar energy business in some markets.

Tesla's solar business has been slowing for years since it acquired its solar business through the takeover of SolarCity in 2016, and Tesla's solar division has finally done some good in the past few quarters. Tesla achieved a record deployment of residential solar energy in the US in the second quarter of 2022. Last quarter, Tesla also had a strong performance, deploying 94 megawatts of solar energy, an increase of 13% over the same period last year.

However, in the past three days, many Tesla solar customers have reported that they have received an email from the company informing them that they will not provide services in their area and have cancelled their orders. Customers currently affected include the Greater Los Angeles area, Northern California, Oregon and Florida.

In addition, Tesla has laid off some employees in his solar power dispatching, planning and design department.

CTOnews.com learned that in an email to customers, Tesla introduced to them the "Tesla certified installer" in their area. It seems that Tesla may not install solar energy on his own, but plans to supply to third-party installers, which will be a major change in strategy.
