CTOnews.com November 11 news, MediaTek today released the T800 baseband chip, speed as high as 7.9Gbps. As a follow-up to the T700, the MediaTek T800 is a fast and efficient 5G baseband chip that supports sub-6GHz on independent (SA) and independent (NSA) networks as well as millimeter waves.

The chip can be used in dual SIM card configuration (dual standby) and can provide download speed up to 7.9Gbps and upload speed up to 4.2Gbps. The T800 fully supports 5G 4GPP Release-16 specification and 4CC carrier aggregation.

CTOnews.com learned that the MediaTek T800 uses 4nm node technology, with fully integrated 3GPP Release-16 5G cellular modems, FR1 transceivers, envelope tracking (ET) chips, MLNA, GNSS receivers and associated PMICs.
