On November 10, according to foreign media reports, senior executives of market research institutions revealed that Samsung, which had raised the quality rate of large-size QD-OLED panels to 85% in the summer, showed that it was considering expanding the production capacity of QD-OLED panels in order to obtain panel orders for Apple monitors.

Executives at market research firms said Samsung showed it was considering investing in QD-OLED panels at its new factory, which could be called A5.

The market research executive also said that Samsung's A5 factory will use 8.6 generation substrates to produce panels, mainly targeting 27-inch displays, and Apple is the main customer they plan.

In terms of the panels needed for displays, executives from market research institutions revealed that Samsung initially considered developing OLED panels with red, green and blue in series, but then decided to produce more profitable QD-OLED panels for the display market.

In addition to the QD-OLED panel of the 8.6th generation substrate, foreign media say Samsung display and LG display are also developing technologies related to the production of OLED panel of the eighth generation substrate. Compared with the currently widely used sixth generation substrate, the panel produced by the eighth generation substrate is larger in size and mainly aims at products such as tablets, notebook computers and monitors.
