Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Work hard at school, try to improve your grade point, actively follow your mentor to do projects, stay up late to write papers, every college student and graduate student is to graduate smoothly and get that diploma.
Postponing graduation may be a shadow for all graduates, or even a setback in life.
However, today is different from the past, you may not be able to imagine that "postponing graduation" is no longer an unacceptable thing for today's graduates. They are no longer afraid of delaying graduation. Even, in order to have more internship experience, to take the postgraduate entrance examination for civil servants in World War II, and to avoid "social enrollment", some graduates even take the initiative to postpone their graduation.
Tech talked with a number of new graduates who voluntarily chose to postpone their graduation. Although they are in different stages and situations, they choose to postpone it on their own initiative because of their clear goals and life plans. For them, the "extension" is an option, using the "extension" of this year, they can find the direction they want more.

In order to go abroad as an exchange student, graduate one decided to postpone. I am now a graduate student. In order to apply for the second semester of graduate school to go abroad as an exchange student, I have decided to take the initiative to postpone. Because it is a two-year master's degree, if you go abroad in the second year, you must postpone it for one year, so that you can finish the graduation process normally.
At that time, I struggled with this decision for a long time, mainly because I was worried that I would face some doubts when looking for a job later. Now the age anxiety is really serious. If you work a year later, you will worry that your employment competitiveness will be relatively lower.
When I was very hesitant, it was the school teacher who encouraged me to go abroad if I wanted to. I didn't have to worry too much about "delaying my graduation". Our college encourages exchanges abroad. In our college, there are many students like me who want to go abroad to communicate, and our class accounts for almost 1/3. They all want to postpone it, and most of the students are not so resistant to it. Perhaps it is because we have a purposeful delay or a relatively clear plan, so we do not have much psychological burden on the delay.
I think it's good to postpone my graduation, because I really have very little time for internship for two years, and one more year gives me more internship opportunities. I have planned to go abroad for exchange in the first half of my second year of graduate school and return to China for internship in the second half of the year.
On social platforms, many people ask me about taking the initiative to finish. I think everyone has their own rhythm and pace. If you make a choice, just finish your plan at your own pace. There is no need to fall into meaningless anxiety. Since you have chosen to postpone, you must bear its advantages as well as the risks it brings.
With an one-year delay, I have more time to explore my career direction, mainly in order to accumulate internship experience. I majored in economic management, business is very "volume", the financial industry is more difficult. Undergraduates are busy with "grade points" and do not spend a lot of time on internship programs, so career planning is not very clear.
Originally, I have passed the application for studying abroad, but I think that the postgraduate stage has passed very quickly. I don't really want to face the autumn tricks so quickly. So I gave up enrollment last year and chose to postpone it. I used this year to accumulate internship experience and reapply for foreign graduate students. I just want to find my career direction through the graduate stage, so that I can accumulate more internship experience when I graduate.
It doesn't cost much for me to postgraduate. I just go to graduate school a year later. My undergraduate grades are also good, the re-application has been passed, there are books to read. There is no pressure on me to postpone it, because I am going to study, not facing the society.
My parents also support my decision, and it's good to do what I want to do and explore my career direction at the end of this year.
I live in school now, and I am interviewing different companies, preparing to take a roll. After finishing these few months, I feel very cool, because I have no academic pressure, my graduation thesis is basically completed, and I can concentrate on my internship. Many people worry that delaying graduation will affect employment and there will be peer pressure. But I can't do it at all. The same class of students have joined the job and will not be anxious. Instead, they can be my resources. After that, when I apply for a job, I can ask them for some experience, or I can ask them to introduce job opportunities.
But in our school, there are few people like me who choose to delay graduation on my own initiative. I do not regret taking the initiative to postpone this decision, and I now enjoy the process of exploring career direction.
In order to retain my identity as a fresh student to apply for the State Grid, I took the initiative to postpone the State Grid exam for World War II. I chose to take the initiative to postpone the examination last year.
In my senior year, I had an accident when I took the State Grid exam for the first time. I prepared for the State Grid exam for a long time, but on the day of the exam, I had a sudden outbreak of acute gastroenteritis and even got a painkiller shot before going to the examination room, but I failed to stay in the examination room for ten minutes, and finally the examination room teacher sent me to the hospital.
The purpose of applying for an electric power major in a university is to take the State Grid. I have been preparing for this exam for a long time, and I am confident that I can pass the exam. As a result, I failed to finish the exam because of accident. I was so unreconciled that I decided to take the exam for another year, but the State Grid exam requires the identity of a new graduate, so I need to take a year off and delay graduation.
After they put forward the idea with their parents and teachers, they did not object. When I was in good health, the teacher helped me to suspend school, and the process was relatively smooth. I was very determined when I made this decision at that time, and I didn't think about the possible consequences of the delay. But after the end of this year, I found that there are still a lot of effects, mainly in terms of mentality.
I spent all that year at school, went to the library every day, and rented a study room outside. In terms of study, I had no motivation to prepare for the exam the next year. In addition, all the students in the school graduated one by one, and it was really hard for me to be alone in school. Because the counselor has also changed, I often chat with the previous counselor.
As a matter of fact, I am not an emotional person myself, but in the face of suspending school, delaying graduation and graduating from classmates, I become very emotional and cry when I am immobile. I can't sleep every night.
I have never worried that delaying graduation will affect my job search. I can do whatever I want to pass the exam this year. If I fail in the exam, I will go to work.
If you have a clear plan for your future, you can decide whether to postpone it in order to retain your identity as a freshman, but if you are confused about the future, forget it. If you don't have a firm consciousness, it's all in vain.
When the contract was broken by a big factory, I had to postpone it, and I chose to take the initiative to postpone it, mainly because the offer I got last year was broken. In order to retain my identity as a fresh student and increase my internship experience, it may be more difficult to find a job after enrollment.
I majored in journalism and communication in graduate school. Originally scheduled to graduate from the class of 2022, he took the initiative to postpone his graduation to the class of 2023. Because it is already a "master's degree" and a two-year system, even if it is delayed by one year, it is the same as the "master's" academic system, and the age anxiety is not particularly great for me.
I got the Offer of a big TOP factory last year, and the tripartite agreement (company, student, school) has been signed. As a result, in March this year, the line of business where I was originally located was cut because of organizational restructuring. The company HR wanted to change the position at first, but the job content and location were completely different from my previous one, which was different from my entire career plan. He told me that the Spring Festival was coming soon when I adjusted my post, and the autumn move was over. Although I was actively preparing for the spring move, I didn't like it.
Therefore, I thought twice and chose to postpone graduation. But the job market this year is much worse than last year. Compared with last fall, my resume is richer, at least two internships in big companies, but the overall admission rate is not as good as last year, obviously you have become better, but resume hanging, written test hanging, interview hanging, still pretty miserable.
Students who delay their graduation in our school can apply for dormitory and pay an extra year's accommodation fee without paying tuition fees. Parents and teachers are quite supportive of my decision. My tutor is very old, after hearing what happened to me, he understands me very well, and the teaching secretary of the college is still giving me advice.
Postpone until now, I have been busy with autumn recruitment, sending resumes, written tests and interviews. In fact, through the fact that my contract was broken last year, I will rethink the direction of my job search. My lesson is more painful, many people just heard that the Internet industry is now unstable, not as practical as I feel.
In addition, many people around me have been employed, and I have a clearer understanding of the salary and treatment of all kinds of industries. I suddenly found that the treatment of a humanities and social science student going to a big factory is similar to that of a central enterprise or a state-owned enterprise. However, the working condition of state-owned enterprises and central enterprises is indeed very good, leaving work early every day. In this case, it is actually quite comfortable, and I may not be so yearning for big factories. He will also deliver and interview, but he doesn't have to. So this year, in addition to internships, there will be an adjustment in the direction of employment.
