CTOnews.com, November 10 (Xinhua)-- near the ancient site of Sanxingdui, the construction site of the Xining-Chengdu high-speed railway is busy, and the Hongyuan No.2 tunnel, the first tunnel on the line, has entered the actual construction stage since November 9, according to China Railway.

The Xining-Chengdu high-speed railway starts from Xining Station in Xining City, Qinghai Province, through Haidong City and Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, and connects to Chengdu East Railway Station in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. the total length of the main line is 836.5 kilometers and the design speed is 200km per hour.

There are 29 stations in Xining, Hai East and West, Hualong, Jianza, colleagues, Ganjia, Xiahe, Cooperation, Luoqu, Langmu Temple, Huahu, Axi, Ruoergai, Banyou, Hongyuan, Huangshengguan, Chuanzhu Temple, Songpan, Zhenjiangguan, Taiping, Longtang, Maoxian, Gaochuan, Anxian, South Mianzhu, Shifang West, Sanxingdui, East of Qingbaijiang River and East Chengdu. Among them, Xining, Hai East and West, Qingbai River East and Chengdu East are the existing stations, and the other stations are newly built stations.

CTOnews.com learned that the first Hongyuan No. 2 tunnel to be excavated is located in the middle and high mountains of Minshan Mountain, with a total length of 5536 meters, a maximum buried depth of about 314m, and an elevation of between 3703 m and 4104 m.

Xining-Chengdu high-speed railway is an integral part of Lanzhou and Xining-Guangzhou high-speed railway network in China, which connects with Lanxin high-speed railway, Xi'an-Chengdu high-speed railway, Chengdu-Guiyang high-speed railway, Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway, Lanzhou-cooperation high-speed railway under construction, Chengdu-Lanzhou high-speed rail, Chengdu-Dazhou to Wanzhou high-speed railway and other lines.

After the completion and opening of the whole line, it will greatly facilitate the travel of people of all ethnic groups along the line, strengthen the exchanges between Lanzhou Xi (Ning) urban agglomeration and Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, and promote the interconnection between the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It is of great significance in promoting economic and social development and rural revitalization along the route.
