CTOnews.com, Nov. 10, Thunder Serpent is developing a new Blade 18 gaming laptop that has appeared in the Geekbench 5 database and displays the Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU with 24 cores.

Geekbench data show that the processor has a frequency of 5.4GHz and has 24 cores and 32 threads, that is, 8 large cores + 16 small cores. This will be the chip with the largest number of cores in the notebook computer field ever.

CTOnews.com has learned that there are only three models of Blade Gaming laptops available in Thunder Snake: the Blade 14, the Blade 15 and the Blade 17. Among them, the Blade 17 is the most high-end flagship model, with a choice of 12-generation Intel Core i9-12900H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards.

The 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900HX is Intel's flagship mobile chip to be released later this year. It will provide the basic frequency of 1.8GHz and up to 5.4GHz acceleration frequency, with 36 MB L3 cache, TDP of about 55-65W (PL1).

In terms of running scores alone, i9-13900HX with a significant increase in the number of cores improves multithreaded performance by 26% and single-threaded performance by 7.5% compared with Core i9-12900HX. Unfortunately, the GPU of this laptop is not yet known. Thunder Snake Blade 18 is expected to be announced after the release of Intel's 13th-generation Kurei mobile processor platform.
