CTOnews.com, November 10, according to CINNO Research statistics, the sales of folding screen mobile phones in China reached 723000 in the third quarter of 2022, a sharp increase of 114% over the same period last year. Domestic folding mobile phone sales in the first three quarters of this year were higher than those in the same period last year. Although terminal demand continues to be sluggish, the folding mobile phone market shows a reverse growth trend.

Judging from the specific data of each brand, Huawei's folding phone sales increased by 95% in the third quarter of 2022 compared with the same period last year, still ranking the No.1 in the domestic folding machine market. Since its launch in the fourth quarter of 2021, Huawei's up-and-down folding phone P50 Pocket has topped the domestic single-quarter sales of folding phones for three consecutive quarters in Q1~Q3 this year, while Mate Xs 2, which was launched in April, has also achieved good results.

Samsung's folding phone sales rose 20% in the third quarter of 2022 compared with the same period last year, ranking second in domestic sales. Samsung is the terminal brand with the richest product line and the fastest iteration speed in the field of folding mobile phones. Its new generation of Galaxy Z Fold4 / Galaxy Z Flip4 was launched in September, and Samsung folding mobile phone products have been iterated to the fourth generation. The rich folding mobile phone products on sale support the entire Samsung folding screen mobile phone market.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of market share, Huawei accounted for more than half of the market share in the third quarter of 2022, down 5.1% from the same period last year, but still led the domestic folding mobile phone market. Samsung's market share was 20.5%, down 16.1% from the same period last year. Xiaomi jumped to third place with a 9.0% market share, up 5.8% from a year earlier, mainly due to the launch of its new generation of folding mobile phone product MIX Fold2; the market share of vivo, OPPO and Glory increased from nothing to 7.7%, 4.6% and 3.1%, respectively.
