On Wednesday, the main creators of Paradise Disco issued a statement claiming that they had been deceived and expelled from the development studio ZA / UM, while the studio owner claimed that the creators had been fired for misconduct.

Robert Kurvitz, the game director of Bliss Disco, and Aleksander Rostov, the artistic director, wrote in the Medium post:

Things got worse after T ü treke O Ü E, an Estonian company, bought a majority stake in ZA / UM. After they became major shareholders, we were quickly excluded from day-to-day operations, our work was terminated, and our access to company information was closed. A few weeks after we started asking for access to documents and financial data, we were fired, which were still kept secret from us.

We now know that T ü treke O Ü must have fraudulently gained control of Zaum Studio O Ü s. We believe that T ü treke O Ü s' funds for the purchase of majority stakes, which belong to the studio and all shareholders, were illegally obtained from Zaum Studio O Ü. They were supposed to be used to produce a sequel to Paradise Disco, but were misappropriated for personal gain.

Game creators say they are considering initiating civil or criminal proceedings.

CTOnews.com learned that in a statement sent to GamesIndustry.biz, ZA / UM denied the fraud allegations and said several employees had been fired for "serious misconduct".

In order to properly defend ZA / UM and protect our employees, we consider it necessary to address unfounded claims and lies. The rumors that we decided to terminate the contracts of these people are totally unfounded and cannot reflect the facts in any way. This is a decision that must be made for the well-being of the group.

In addition, ZA / UM denied any allegations of financial malfeasance or fraud and claimed that most of its profits had been invested in the studio to finance the next project currently under development.

Studio ZA / UM also said the fired creator was negligent and had been out of work for almost two years, but the studio still paid the salary.
