On Wednesday, local time, Facebook parent company Meta Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg) announced that the company would cut more than 11000 jobs, and many Meta employees who were laid off were so frustrated and disappointed that they shared their feelings on social media.

Thirteen percent of employees will be fired, Zuckerberg said in a statement on Wednesday. He said he had "made a mistake" and apologized to employees for the company's over-investment, calling layoffs a "last resort". On Wednesday morning, the laid-off employees received the notice via email.

Zuckerberg said the company plans to freeze hiring and most of the Meta recruiting team has been laid off.

Brianna Sgro, a former Meta recruiter, announced her dismissal on the recruitment website LinkedIn, writing: "I am now unemployed. I am sad, injured, disappointed and hesitant."

Although they were laid off, many employees expressed their gratitude for working for a company like Meta. For some young employees, this is the first time in their careers that they have faced mass layoffs.

"it's hard to write this down," Cai Mailhes, a former technology recruiter for Meta, wrote on LinkedIn. "Today I was fired by Meta. I never thought that the workplace and home work that made me feel so safe would end in this way. I never wanted to leave since I got a promotion and developed my career within the company. My colleagues are definitely the smartest and most talented people."

Although many laid-off employees are optimistic, not all employees reacted positively to the dismissal. A couple who worked as a technology recruiter at Meta posted on LinkedIn that they had all been fired just a few months before they returned from maternity leave.

Another former employee tweeted that he had only a "very short time" to look for a job because he was still an immigrant. A former Meta employee who works in Seattle said the office there was "crowded with people" and that it was a "very sad moment".

According to news released by former Meta employees, Meta has laid off workers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Ghana. The laid-off employees include product designers, recruiters, engineers, and some people who work in marketing, Meta reality labs and virtual reality equipment Quest departments.
