In November 2020, Samsung used SmartThings for the first time in the Samsung Centro T Raemian Leaders One Building in Seoul's Ruicao district. Later, the SmartThings platform was used in 112 buildings built by 18 construction companies in partnership with POSCO Eternal C, Daewoo Eternal C, Hyundai Eternal C and Kolon Global.

On that basis, Samsung is planning to expand its SmartThings to 250000 families in its 300 complex, which is ready to move in. CTOnews.com learned that the company's vision is to continue to expand SmartThings to partner construction companies.

Households who support SmartThings can use the application to control not only household appliances, but also a variety of other devices, such as lighting, air conditioners and heaters, ventilation, and electric blinds and curtains. Users can also check electricity consumption and charges, so as to help users use household appliances effectively. It was recently reported that more than 10 million Samsung home appliances are connected to SmartThings, and that number will grow further.
