CTOnews.com, November 9 (Xinhua)-- chipmaker GlobalFoundries today reported record revenue, gross margin and net income for the third quarter ended September 30, 2022.

According to the data, GE core's third-quarter revenue was $2.1 billion (about 15.204 billion yuan), up 22% from a year earlier; gross profit margin was 29.4%, adjusted gross profit margin was 29.9%; operating profit margin was 17.2%, adjusted operating margin was 18.8%.

During the reporting period, GE Core achieved net income of $336 million (approximately 2.433 billion yuan), adjusted net income of $368 million (approximately 2.664 billion yuan), adjusted EBITDA of $793 million (approximately 5.741 billion yuan), and cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities of $3.5 billion (approximately 253.4 billion yuan).

CTOnews.com learned that Thomas Caulfield, CEO of GE Core, said that 300mm equivalent wafers shipped 637 million pieces, a record increase of 5% year-on-year, and that the company "achieved record gross profit, operating profit and net profit". "We are still on track to achieve strong growth and profits this year."
