CTOnews.com, Nov. 8, according to the China Patent announcement of the State intellectual property Office (application no.: CN109643166A), the patent applied by Apple for gesture-based control methods and systems for autonomous vehicles was granted and announced today.

The abstract description says that a trigger condition for initiating a gesture-based interactive session with the occupant of the vehicle is detected. The display is filled with a representation of one or more options for the operation associated with the vehicle. Specific options are selected for specific implementation, at least in part based on the analysis of one or more signals generated by the occupant, such as gestures. An indication that the particular option has been selected is provided, and an operation corresponding to the particular option is initiated.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that Mr. Guo expects Apple cars to be launched between 2025 and 2027. Apple may work with Kia to build the car, which has approached other carmakers such as Nissan and Hyundai.
