CTOnews.com, Nov. 8, recently, Nokia Bell and Philippine mobile operator Globe Telecom successfully completed the outfield test of the WDM optical line system in Clipl band. Nokia Bell's PSE-Vs processing chip showed strong capability in the test to ensure that Globe Telecom achieves C-band 600Gb / s and L-band 400Gb / s transmission rates in optical network links. The test shows that it can meet the low-delay and high-capacity transmission requirements of 100G and 400G services.

CTOnews.com has learned that based on the 1830 PSS photonic service switching platform, Nokia Bell's Cellular L-band solution will double the capacity of Globe Telecom's existing national backbone network. By realizing the transmission rate of 600Gb / s in C-band 100GHz channel width and 400Gb / s transmission rate in L-band 75GHz channel width, the total network capacity of Globe Telecom in C-band Globe Telecom L-band will be expanded to 54.4T. It is worth mentioning that the test results further prove that the existing C-band system in Globe Telecom network can be seamlessly upgraded to Clipl-band by adding L-band components.

The test was carried out on the Globe Telecom backbone network between Tarlac and Cabanatuan in the northern island of Luzon, Philippines. The network connects major cities and large data centers in the Philippines, as well as the convergence point of the global network. Multi-terabit capacity can provide strong support for the evolution of 5G mobile communications, meet the growing needs of online video and Internet applications, and facilitate the deployment of cloud applications through modern networks in the market, and achieve connection rates as high as 400Gbit / s for customers.
