Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

On the morning of November 8, Beijing time, it was reported that a Twitter software engineer who was fired in the layoff order of Elon Musk last week complained to US labor authorities that he had retaliated by the company for helping colleagues keep information in their work email accounts.

The former Twitter employee, Emanuel Emmanuel Cornet, said in a filing to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on Monday that he was fired on November 1, the same day he used the company's Slack channel to share a Google Chrome extension he released. This extension can help employees save information related to performance reviews or stock awards. Employees can use this information to question layoffs or demand compensation from the company. Twitter then deleted the link to the Slack channel, he said.

"Cornett alleges that Twitter included it in the first batch of large-scale layoffs because he helped colleagues strengthen their self-protection during layoffs," according to the NLRB document.

Twitter has yet to comment.

All complaints submitted to the NLRB are the responsibility of district officials, and if they find that the allegations are true and cannot ensure a settlement, they will file the complaint on behalf of the general counsel of the NLRB, which will be decided by the judge of the agency. After these judges make a decision, they can also appeal to the NLRB commissioner in Washington and then submit it to the United States Federal Court. The agency has the right to require companies to reinstate laid-off employees and repay them, but does not usually hold executives personally responsible for related misconduct or rule on punitive damages.

Connett is also the lead plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit filed on Thursday that alleges that Twitter violates US federal and state laws, which require large companies to give months' notice of mass layoffs.

Mr Musk has said that all laid-off employees will be compensated for three months. Shannon Rees-Riordan, a lawyer representing Connett, said on Monday that it did not receive the compensation and that it was not clear which employees had received it.
