According to news in the morning of November 8, Beijing time, some co-founders of interactive fitness platform Peloton, including former CEO John Foley, have started a new business of selling custom carpets on the Internet.

Hisao Kushi, Peloton's former chief legal officer, and Yony Feng, former chief technology officer, worked with Foley to launch Ernesta, which allows people to buy custom-designed and cut carpets at roughly the same price as standard products in stores, and deliver them quickly. The company has just completed a $25 million round of financing, the company said in a statement on Monday.

Foley resigned as chief executive of Peloton in February and resigned as chief executive in September. The company, a darling during the outbreak, is trying to shake off a downturn in which its share price has fallen about 75 per cent so far this year.

Foley will serve as CEO of Ernesta, which is headquartered in New York, while Kushi and Feng will serve as Chief legal Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively. Some other Peloton colleagues also joined them.

Ernesta will be available to US customers in the spring of 2023.
