CTOnews.com, November 8 (Xinhua)-- Apple is preparing to release an update of iOS 16.1.1 for iPhone to address errors and problems encountered by users after the first major update of the iOS 16 operating system two weeks ago, including a Wi-Fi problem that has been troubling iPhone users.

Over the past week, MacRumors has seen signs of devices running iOS 16.1.1 in its website analysis, suggesting that the update is being tested internally and may be released in the near future. Although the content of the update is not yet clear, it is possible to fix a Wi-Fi problem that affects users. This problem causes the user's iPhone to randomly disconnect the Wi-Fi connection while on standby, such as overnight or otherwise.

In addition to fixing Wi-Fi errors, Apple may address some of the problems that users have long complained about since the iOS 16 was launched in September, including fast power consumption, slow Spotlight search, and slow animation of the iPhone 14 Pro model when it slips out of the app. In terms of new features, iOS 16.1.1 may officially support the satellite emergency call function of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg recently said in his Power On newsletter that Apple may release a satellite emergency call function, possibly iOS 16.1.1, in November through the "click update" of iOS 16. Apart from saying that the feature will be available in November, Apple has not provided specific time information on when the satellite emergency call function will be available to users.

CTOnews.com has learned that Apple is currently publicly testing iOS 16.2 and the official version of iPadOS 16.2 is expected to be released in mid-December.
