The Baotou-Yinchuan high-speed railway (from Baotou to Yinchuan) is an important part of the Beijing-Lanzhou passageway, one of the main high-speed passenger corridors in the national medium-and long-term railway network planning, with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour and a total length of 420 kilometers. It is also the first high-speed rail line connecting two ethnic minority autonomous regions in China. After the completion of the whole line, the travel time from Baotou to Yinchuan will be shortened from 6 hours now to about 2 hours, and people along the line will travel more quickly, conveniently and comfortably. At that time, the economic exchanges and regional cooperation between Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous region, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Northeast China will be more convenient.

CTOnews.com learned that the main line of the Inner Mongolia section of the Baoyin high-speed railway is 402km long, which is the longest high-speed rail line under construction in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region. From east to west, there are eight new stations along the Yellow River urban agglomeration, including Baiyanhua West Station, Wulat Qianqi West Station, Wuyuan East Station, Linhe West Station, Dengkou West Station, Alkali Cabinet Station, Wuhai Haibowan Station and Wuhainan Station. Among them, Wuhai Haibo Bay Station is the largest newly built station.
