CTOnews.com, November 7 (Xinhua)-- Today, Strategy Analytics released a report saying that more than 85 percent of North American households will have at least one connected TV by the end of 2022, up from 73 percent in 2019. Among them, connected TV includes smart TV, streaming media player or game console and so on.

According to the report, Roku takes the lead in North America, with more than 6500 million households owning Roku devices. Amazon Fire TV and Samsung Tizen both have strong influence, and five other platforms have a place in at least 20 million North American households.

According to the TrendForce Jibang Consulting report, global TV shipments reached 51.39 million units in the third quarter of 2022, an increase of 12.4% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 2.1%, the lowest in the same quarter since 2014. Entering the fourth quarter, the brand has made a big promotion in order to sprint this year's shipments, which is expected to increase the fourth TV shipments by 10.8% month-on-month to 56.96 million units, but it is still down 3.5% compared with the same period last year, a new low for the same period in previous years.

CTOnews.com learned that TrendForce Ji Bang Consulting estimates that global TV shipments in 2022 are estimated to be only 202 million units, down 3.8% from the same period last year, the lowest in nearly a decade. It is estimated that global TV shipments will decline 0.7% year-on-year to 201 million units in 2023.
