CTM has a number of outlets to provide customers with a wide range of telecommunications products sales and a full range of customer services. CTM's shareholders are Citic Telecom International (99%) and the Postal Reserve Bureau (1%).
In 2023, the first year of the 5G licence, CTM plans to invest around 206 million patacas and an additional investment of 815.2 million patacas over the next four years (2024-2027). During the first five years of the licence, CTM invested a total of 1.0212 billion patacas, mainly in the expansion of 5G network, billing system and product platform upgrading.
The 5G wireless network adopts the most advanced wireless network technology, wireless equipment and functions, and has planned in detail the spectrum development goals for the next five years. If sufficient spectrum resources can be allocated according to Macau Telecom's spectrum plan and supported by 5G terminals in the future, the download speed can be up to 3Gbps, the upload speed can be up to 700Mbps, and the best delay is 5 milliseconds. In addition, CTM will also consider deploying 5G millimeter wave (mmWave) for enterprise applications and solutions, which can support download speeds up to 10Gbps and upload speeds of 1.7Gbps.

China Telecom (Macau) Co., Ltd. estimates that when the 100MHz 3.5G band is available, after the 5G network is opened, the downloading rate of the community will be up to 1.34Gbps and the uplink rate of the district will be up to 140Mbps (depending on the actual network environment, customer terminals, software applications and other factors, customer perception may vary).
