Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for their witty meow, zerodert and Mo_Onster clues delivery! CTOnews.com, Nov. 7, Bloomberg quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Apple has cut production of the new iPhone by at least 3 million because of cooling demand.

According to sources, the company and its suppliers currently have a production target of 87 million or less, compared with a previous target of 90 million. The cut is mainly due to weak demand for iPhone 14 and 14 Plus models, which are cheap alternatives to the high-end Pro series, but most users are unwilling to buy them.

CTOnews.com reported that Apple released its latest earnings report on October 27 this year. The results show that revenue in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022 was $90.15 billion and net profit was $20.721 billion; iPhone revenue was $42.63 billion, up 9.7% from a year earlier; and wearable devices, home furnishings and accessories were $9.65 billion, up 9.8% from a year earlier.

In terms of business, Apple's growth in the third quarter was mainly due to iPhone and Mac. Apple released its new iPhone 14 series in the third quarter, and the iPhone 14 models are selling well, leading to an increase in iPhone shipments.

Apple said that currently the main source of revenue is iPhone, while the regional distribution is mainly concentrated in the United States, Europe, China, Japan and other Asia-Pacific regions.

Apple shipped 53 million units in the third quarter, up 8 per cent from a year earlier, according to Canalys. The increase in shipments has brought an increase in the company's performance. Apple's iPhone business generated revenue of $42.6 billion in the third quarter, up 9.7% from a year earlier, making it the company's main source of revenue growth.

Apple issued a statement today updating the current availability of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple said shipments of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would be lower than expected due to a sharp reduction in current capacity at Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant.

At the same time, Foxconn also lowered its fourth-quarter earnings outlook. Previously, Foxconn's guidance for fourth-quarter results was expected to be "cautiously optimistic". Now, Foxconn says it will "downgrade" its outlook because of problems at the Zhengzhou plant.
