CTOnews.com, Nov. 6, Acer, a big maker of PC brands, announced its third-quarter results this week, according to Taiwan's Central News Agency. Acer's net profit after tax fell 37.8 per cent in the third quarter of 2022 compared with the same period a year earlier, dragged down by the headwind of the PC industry.

Specifically, Acer's consolidated revenue in the third quarter of 2022 was NT $64.887 billion (about RMB 14.664 billion); gross profit was NT $6.561 billion, with a gross profit margin of 10.1%; net operating profit was NT $829 million (about RMB 187 million); net profit after tax was NT $1.876 billion (about RMB 424 million), an increase of 8.8% from a month earlier and a decrease of 37.8% from a year earlier.

CTOnews.com learned that Acer had consolidated revenue of 215.587 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 48.723 billion yuan) in the first three quarters and a net profit of 5.835 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 1.319 billion yuan) after tax.

Acer said it sought to optimize its financial position by strengthening supply chain management and sales, with an inventory value of NT $58.131 billion (about RMB 13.138 billion), a decrease of NT $5.311 billion (RMB 1.2 billion) compared with the second quarter and continued to decline since the first quarter, with cash inflows from operations of NT $11.776 billion (RMB 2.661 billion).
