CTOnews.com, November 6, according to the website of the State-owned assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the first unit on the right bank of Guangxi Datengxia Water Control Project was officially put into operation for power generation on November 1.

Datengxia Water Control Project is located in the Qianjiang reach of the Pearl River Basin, which integrates the comprehensive benefits of flood control, shipping, power generation, water resources allocation and irrigation. It is an important project to solve the flood control problems in the middle and lower reaches of the Xijiang River and the Pearl River Delta.

CTOnews.com learned that the Datengxia Water Control Project has a total installed capacity of 1.6 million kilowatts, with a total of 8 axial flow hydrogenerator sets installed, including 3 on the left bank and 5 on the right bank, with a single unit capacity of 200000 kilowatts, making it the largest axial flow hydrogenerator set in China.

Among them, three units on the left bank have been put into operation in July 2020, with a cumulative power generation of more than 8.4 billion kilowatt-hours up to now; five units on the right bank are scheduled to be put into production by the end of 2023, when the average annual power generation will reach 6.55 billion kilowatt-hours, which can save about 2.2 million tons of standard coal and reduce smoke and dust emissions by more than 400,000 tons.
