Yesterday morning, the China Institute of Information and Communications (CICT) released the White Paper on China Computational Power Development Index (2022) (hereinafter referred to as "White Paper").

The White Paper points out that global computing power has entered a new round of rapid development. The scale of global computing power has maintained a trend of rapid and steady growth, and the total scale of global computing equipment will reach 615 EFlops in 2021, with a growth rate of 44%. The scale of computing power of countries around the world is positively correlated with the level of economic development, and the global competition for computing power is increasing.

CTOnews.com learned that the data show that the development level of computing power in China has improved steadily in 2021, and the scale of computing power has continued to expand. In the past six years, China has shipped more than 19.6 million general-purpose servers and 500000 AI servers, and the total scale of computing equipment has reached 202 EFlops. Among them, intelligent computing power has grown rapidly, with a growth rate of 85%, accounting for more than 50% of computing power in China.

On the whole, Guangdong, Beijing, Shanghai and the surrounding provinces have a higher computing power development index, of which Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Shandong rank in the top six, ranking in the first echelon. Sichuan, Fujian, Henan and Hebei ranked seventh to tenth.
