CTOnews.com November 5 news, according to the official information of IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group of China Information and Communication Institute, Ziguang Zhanrui recently successfully completed the key technology laboratory verification of 5G R17 version of RedCap and Beijing Huairou outfield performance test with ZTE, which is another major achievement of Ziguang Zhanrui in the field of 5G R17 RedCap technology.

CTOnews.com learned that ZTE 5G NR base station and Ziguang Zhanrui 5G R17 RedCap platform test terminal were used to test the key technologies and outfield performance of 5G R17 RedCap.

Among them, the key technology verification of 5G R17 RedCap completes the technical verification of functions and performance, such as cell access and residence of RedCap terminal, cell reselection and handover, coexistence of RedCap UE and Legacy UE, uplink and downlink peak rate and timely delay.

The outfield performance test of 5G R17 RedCap has completed the verification of RedCap UE access and basic workflow, peak throughput of single user, multipoint access and throughput, user plane delay, mobility test and so on.

According to reports, 5G R17 RedCap can greatly reduce the cost and power consumption of 5G terminals by reducing the complexity of RF and baseband. As a 5G key technology and solution for medium-and high-speed Internet of things and industrial Internet of things scenarios, 5G R17 RedCap can be mainly used in wearable devices, industrial Internet of things and video applications.
