CTOnews.com, Nov. 6 (Xinhua)-- Japanese car giant Toyota recently launched a "cross-border" product and used their experience in car seats to develop a prototype of a nap seat called TOTONE.

According to reports, the seat can help people take a nap for 15 to 30 minutes, improve productivity through a short break, and aims to solve the challenge faced by Japanese society, that is, employees' mental fatigue after working long hours.

The TOTONE seat is ergonomically designed with a tunnel-like shade 30-35 cm from the eye. The screen next to the nap seat allows users to choose the duration of the nap and adjust other parameters according to their preferences. When the user is ready, TOTONE will help the user fall asleep by shaking gently.

Toyota said its nap seat will improve the quality of its nap by taking into account various factors, such as posture, temperature, noise, lighting, etc.

In addition, the TOTONE nap seat incorporates the technology perfected by car manufacturing. For example, the TOTONE carries the control technology for the use of car seats with massage function, as well as the technology used by the automobile industry to improve sitting comfort and seat temperature.

CTOnews.com learned that the prototype of the nap seat is the result of a partnership between Toyota's senior design and development team and Toyota Textile, the seat maker of the Toyota Group. Toyota officials say a mass production version of the seat could be released to the public as early as next year.
