Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Sean_ for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Nov. 5 (Xinhua)-- iFixit has dismantled Meta's new $1500 (about 10800 yuan) 1500 high-end VR head display Quest Pro, and they concluded that it is a "fascinating, basically unrepairable device."

IFixit first disassembled the battery, which was located behind the head display. This is a dual-core 20.58Wh battery, and it is curved and very rare.

In front of the head, the disassembly found that the shiny front panel was not glass, but some "shiny plastic parts". After removing it, you can see the components, cameras and circuits in front of the device, which look cool. It would be nice to provide a version of the transparent panel.

IFixit also found a small rectangular module in the middle of the Quest Pro, which appears to be the location of the depth sensor.

After unscrewing many screws, iFixit finally found the lens (also plastic, not glass) and the motherboard with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 1 chip. IFixit also took apart the handle, which has its own camera, thumb stick, and lithium-ion battery rated for 10.85Wh.

CTOnews.com learned that the internal structure of Quest Pro is exquisite and troublesome to disassemble. "146screws, countless cables and sometimes counterintuitive designs make this disassembly the most difficult we've done in a long time," iFixit said in the video. "besides replacing the battery, it doesn't seem to be easy to repair."
