CTOnews.com, November 4 news, this morning, Shaanxi Huayu Xianxiang intelligent technology research and development of the "swan" eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft at the Xi'an space base general airport won the happiness aviation limited liability company and Xi'an upstream Star holding Group 20 "Swan mark1" intention orders.

At the end of October this year, the "Swan" eVTOL scale verification plane successfully flew at Xi'an General Aerospace Airport, which also means that it is possible for "electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft" to travel freely over the city.

Huayu Xianxiang has completed the flight test of three different scale verification machines. The flight test of the "Swan" eVTOL scale verification aircraft is mainly through the flight test to test the control strategy of the flight control system in the real environment, to help the scientific research team to further obtain the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft, to improve the scientific research team's further understanding of the flight parameters of the prototype aircraft in the real environment, to promote the further research and development and manufacture of the "Swan" eVTOL full-size prototype, and to promote the basic work of airworthiness certification.

CTOnews.com learned that the "Swan" eVTOL is a six-rotor full-tilting eVTOL aircraft with successful test flight. Under the comprehensive balance of technology and all levels, the team chose the full tilt configuration of the six rotors and three wings.

In January 2022, Shaanxi Huayu Xianxiang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., the first start-up technology company dedicated to the research and development of eVTOL in Northwest China, was established under the joint establishment of Shaanxi West University of Technology Science and Technology Park Co., Ltd. and the School of Aviation of Northwestern University of Technology.

Relying on the supporting conditions such as the State key Laboratory of Airfoil Cascade aerodynamics, the key Laboratory of aircraft Electric Propulsion Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Shaanxi Experimental aircraft Design and Test Technology Engineering Laboratory, the team has worked in the research and development of new concept electric aircraft for many years, served "C919" aircraft and other major national scientific research projects for many times, and has successfully developed dozens of eVTOL experimental aircraft. Including but not limited to all kinds of aircraft, such as lift fan, vector culvert, compound wing, tilt rotor, etc., the team adopts the collaborative research and development mode of "scientist and engineer" in aircraft innovative layout technology, aircraft aerodynamics and multidisciplinary design, distributed electric propulsion aircraft and its new energy application technology, flight control system technology, flight testing and flight quality evaluation technology and other fields have accumulated research results.
