On November 4, Counterpoint Research released its latest report, which shows that MediaTek has been at the forefront of the global and Chinese smartphone chip market share for the past eight quarters. In the Chinese smartphone SoC market, MediaTek took the lead with 42 per cent of the market share in the second quarter of 2022, more than doubling MediaTek's market share compared with the second quarter of 2020.

Counterpoint mentioned in the report that the improvement of the flagship chip Tianji 9000 series has given a strong boost to MediaTek's growth story. MediaTek continues to launch new products of Tianji 5G smartphone chips, which will help the company to remain competitive in the global smartphone SoC market.

In the 5G flagship mobile phone field, MediaTek Tianji 9000 series chips have been recognized by mainstream Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Glory and Asustek ROG for their unique design architecture, low power design capability and leading power performance.

MediaTek's share of head smartphone manufacturers, including OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi, has increased over the past three years, Counterpoint said in the report. Parv Sharma, a senior semiconductor analyst, said in his evaluation that MediaTek's share of China's high-end Android smartphone market has increased significantly, which is the momentum of its long-term steady growth in the global and Chinese mobile phone chip market.

In the future, with the release of a new generation of Tianji flagship chip, MediaTek will continue to maintain the growth momentum of the high-end mobile phone market. It is understood that MediaTek's flagship new product will be released at 14:30 on November 8, it has been revealed that the new generation of Tianji flagship new product is named Tianji 9200, its CPU architecture is upgraded to the new generation of super-large core Cortex-X3,GPU using the new flagship Immortalis G715, but also supports hardware-level ray tracing technology, which can further bring more realistic game quality to the flagship mobile phone. In addition, in the GFXBench 1080p Manhattan ES 3.0 off-screen test, Tianji 9200 scored 328 FPS, while the Manhattan ES 3.1 off-screen test score was 228FPS, a maximum improvement of more than 40%, which is arguably the strongest GPU in Android.
