CTOnews.com learned that ran Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation system Management Office and spokesman for the Beidou satellite navigation system, said that now the Beidou-3 in-orbit satellite, together with the original extended service Beidou II, has a total of 45 satellites providing services in orbit, so the performance of the system is very good. It is planned to launch three to five satellites next year to further strengthen the constellation and ensure the stable operation of the system.

Ran Chengqi also said that on this basis, we will further deepen the development of the next generation of Beidou system.

In the next generation, we call systems that are more ubiquitous, smarter, and more integrated. People will think that these three "more" are very broad. In fact, as a saying goes, the Beidou system is still the core. However, we put all the emerging technologies related to spatio-temporal information into this system as a whole, synchronously develop, and speed up development. Our expected goal is to fully build this space-time system by 2035. By that time, we hope that there will be a Beidou and a Chinese space-time system, whether under water, on the ground, indoors, in the air, in deep space, or even in distant space. As the saying goes, wherever you are in the world, there are Beidou and Chinese space-time system to provide you with safe and reliable space-time technology.

Ran Chengqi said that Beidou is becoming the standard configuration of mass consumer products such as smartphones and wearable devices. In the first half of 2022, 128 smartphones in China supported Beidou location, with shipments of more than 130 million units, accounting for more than 98% of the total shipments in the first half of the year. In mobile map navigation, the average daily use of Beidou location service has exceeded 1000 billion. In particular, Beidou high-precision positioning service has entered Volkswagen mobile phones, and lane-level navigation applications have been launched in Shenzhen, Chongqing, Tianjin and other 8 cities. The world's first mobile phone that supports Beidou No. 3 regional short message communication service has been officially released. Users can send text messages through Beidou satellite without changing cards, changing numbers or adding peripherals.

Ran Chengqi pointed out that the service target promised by the Beidou system is the positioning accuracy of 10 meters, which has been achieved today with a positioning accuracy of 5 meters or even better, with a positioning accuracy of 2-3 meters in some areas, and the time service accuracy is promised to be 20 nanoseconds, which can now provide 10 nanosecond timing accuracy.

Ran Chengqi also pointed out that satellite navigation systems all over the world are 99% of the index, and the time for 1% accuracy to exceed the standard is about 86.4 hours in a year. Through the protection of various technical and management measures, we have increased 99% to 99.9%. Although it is only a 0.9% improvement, it seems like a small step, but it is actually a big step. Through these means, we have realized that the accuracy of the system can exceed the standard time from 86.4 hours to 8.64 hours, of course, we have ensured 100% in the actual work process.
